The new Aston Martin Vanquish is powered by the next generation AM29 V12 engine. This produces 568 horsepower, enough power to break 60 mph from a standing start in just 3.6 seconds. It isn’t the take-off that makes this Aston Martin special, it’s the rare territory it crosses into at 200 mph. The territory is shared by Bugattis, Lamborghinis, Porsches and other performance vehicles with long standards for speed. That isn’t to say that Aston Martin doesn’t have a standard of their own, and this is far from the first of its vehicles to break 200mph. The distinction here shows that Aston Martin doesn’t produce luxury cars and high-end performance cars separately, it does both. Beyond the improved performance specs, the brand claims that the new 2015 Aston Martin Vanquish also sports a drop in emissions. Driving.ca reports that Aston Martin claims a 10% drop in emissions and an 11% improvement in fuel economy. Drivers are not likely to notice much of a difference at the pump, however, but if you can afford a Vanquish fresh out of the dealership, that’s probably not a big deal to you. The new Aston Martin Vanquish will be priced at just over $300k for the base model, and a drop top version is available at a slightly higher premium. They’ll be available this year in dealerships around the world.
